"The ethos of the company is based around impartiality and integrity to help protect everyone from the dangers posed by exposure to asbestos."
AHT Insights Ltd was established to help organisations with asbestos responsibilities fulfil their legal duties with confidence - through practical, kinetic learning grounded in real operational experience.
Director Martin Saunders has worked across every level of the asbestos industry since 1999. He began as an analyst and surveyor, progressed through project management and dutyholder roles, and spent 8 years as a UKAS Technical Assessor and BOHS Course Assessor - evaluating organisations and training providers to the highest professional standards.
Most recently, Martin served as a Senior Scientist at HSE Science Division for 3.5 years, co-authoring research reports RR1217 and RR1218, designing and presenting the HSE Asbestos in Buildings course, and leading national asbestos research projects.
We have wide-ranging experience with regulatory requirements, which means we can give practical, reliable advice across most industries. Our experience spans across private and commercial landlords to large industrial sites like refineries and power stations, understanding each has their own complexities.
Having previously acted as an asbestos duty holder - including managing high-risk materials such as spray coatings in challenging environments and under regulatory scrutiny - this gives us valuable real-world perspective. It helps us understand the pressures our clients face and offer guidance that is both realistic and compliant.
Everything we do turns regulatory knowledge into real working practice - with tools you can apply in your organisation from day one.
Role-specific 60–90 minute courses covering the full asbestos management lifecycle. Kinetic learning with group exercises and real-world scenarios. Supports CAR 2012 annual refresher and CPD requirements.
Practical guidance explaining not just what CAR 2012, HSG 264, and UKAS standards require - but how to implement them in your specific organisation. Plain language, document templates included.
Every course includes reference documents, checklists, and templates you can apply directly - from survey quality check sheets to training needs analysis frameworks and AMP review methodologies.

Producing a register that meets HSE minimum requirements. Covers photographs, simplifying data for all users, linking to plans, and identifying information gaps.
The annual AMP review is a legal requirement under CAR 2012 Reg 4. Works through a real AMP scenario - checking minimum content, testing for reactive maintenance, and building continual improvement.

From a fibre exposure incident during removal to reduced confidence in information and analysis supplied - and what that means for the previous samples you considered asbestos-free. Works through two scenarios, who is effected and what actions to take.
Check whether there is an appropriate survey, a CAR 2012 compliant asbestos register and whether the asbestos management plan is suitable and sufficient. Supplies working templates to collect simple answers and provides the regulatory references to allow informed discussions with employers.
This course equips those involved in purchasing to carry out robust due-diligence checks on imported goods, protecting both customers and their organisation. It highlights the ongoing global use of asbestos, the limits of analytical standards, and the real risks of asbestos entering the supply chain. Participants learn how these issues can mitigate the risk of personal exposure, damage company reputation, and ongoing insurance risk for the business.
All courses and guidance are designed for technical, risk-aware professionals with real compliance responsibilities.
Anyone with legal responsibility for non-domestic premises under CAR 2012 Regulation 4.
Those who specify, tender, and manage asbestos service contracts and need to evaluate competency correctly.
